Something I think y'all would be interested in: Starting equipment and level 1 abilities.
Rikona:
Starting equipment
Dagger: A common weapon used by many in torgia, many people carry at least a dagger for self defense. While not the strongest weapon, it is versatile, light, and easy to carry. This weapon can be used with the Dexterity stat.
Throwing knives: Much like a dagger, except more balanced for throwing rather than melee combat. You start with 5, and really any target that needs more is something a Scoundrel should avoid...
Scoundrel's outfit: Not providing much in the way of protection (Why would you want to be in a fight like that anyway??) Scoundrels outfits include durable clothing and various pockets and vests to hide items and weapons on their person.
25 gold: Quite a nice sum of money, your character probably got this money from some smart investments...nah, they either stole it or scammed it. C'mon, They're a scoundrel, right? --------------- Frederick:
Mace: As much a badge of office as a weapon, a mace is able to deal heavy crushing blows that are quite fearsome.
Round shield: A medium sized shield made of wood and covered with rawhide, this shield provides adequate protection, though sturdier ones do exist...
20 gold
Hauberk: An old style chain shirt that provides decent protection without being too heavy or restricting. Perfect for lighter postings and more everyday wear while still providing protection. --------------- Melio:
Spatha: An old style of sword that has largely been disused by the Sentean army, it was most likely a retirement present for Melio, and it is still a deadly and serviceable weapon. This weapon can be wielded with dexterity.
Buckler: A small metal shield that fits over the fist, the buckler is used to deflect and parry blows from an enemies weapon.
Brigandine: Armor made from a layer of interlinking metal plates riveted to an outer layer of canvas. While not providing the protection of plate armor, Brigandine is a lighter and more affordable choice, and popular among the soldiers.
25 gold: A long career of military campaigns provides a good salary, and a good retirement if used correctly. --------------- Belzar:
Scimitar: A common sword of the Arrian military, a curved sword suited for cutting. It is a very distinctive weapon of the arrian people.
Shield: Dahl shield. A smaller shield of the Arrian variety, made of metal and offering protection to the various threats that live in the desert.
Lamellar armor: Armor made from layers of specially cured leather sewn onto a cloth backing. While lighter protection than most forms of armor, lamellar armor is still decent protection while keeping the wearer cool and preventing dehydration in Arria's merciless heat.
20 gold: Battlemages easily find work around torgia, if they are not already paid soldiers themselves.
