As he confidently walks up his scar making him a bit off putting from a normal paladin but his smile and voice quickly reassure the mayor, "Yes sir. There is something going on there so it's going to take some patience to figure it out. Something troops don't have much time for."

He bowed his head, saying "Many thanks good sir. If you would look into this matter for the mayor, you will be handsomely rewarded. It seems no one has taken an interest in this job yet..."

He he continues to smile and giving him a pat on the shoulder, "Do not worry. I will figure this out and be back before you know it. I will begin heading that way after a fresh start tomorrow morning. If any others show up, then tell them to meet me at (insert prominent landmark here) just before the sun rises."

Melio walked through the town silently, his eyes scanning for any signs of the location where he would take this new job. Sure he could have retired, but what fun would that be? He hardly had any kind of savings and not to mention the fact that spending his final years getting drunk at a bar did not sound amusing.

Melio would indeed hear the idle gossip of the market's, the job posting at the mayor's office, and of rumors about old acquaintances of his... gnolls. Undoubtedly the biggest threat to the more rural areas.

Melio sighed, and walked off towards the Mayor's office. He had a feeling it would be something minor and trivial, but it was still something he had to attend to.
He was hoping it would be something different...something that would help out the world...

Frederik would notice the smaller woman come up to the stewards stand, as the man looks up at the woman and arches a brow. "Can I...help you?"
Mello has also arrived, the steward picking up in interest to see him come along. "Well it seems like we finally have some takers!"

All of your given the details. The nearby hamlet of Clayton has been experiencing frequent attacks and raids by Gnolls- Savage creatures who share the attributes of man and beast, though not like any seen in the area. However, it seems every time the baron sends his troops to the hamlet, the gnolls seem to have ceased their attack and moved on...until the troops leave. Then reports take place again. The mayor however seems to believe their is some skulduggery afoot, and wants you to investigate what's really happening.
The reward is posted as money, and although there isn't an exact time table, the mayor would prefer it be done as soon as possible.

Sir Crom goes to gather the group of heroes into one spot. He introduces himself and smiles as he addresses everyone, "We have all signed up for this. It's best we leave as soon as possible before more get hurt. Especially if we are just walking. Ready?"
