Sentea. A land of mighty knights, great castles, and rolling grasslands and forests. The center of power in the kingdom of Torgia, spreading the width and breadth of the land. The city of Kaisenburg is no exception, the castle in the center a fine testament to the architectural skill of Senteans. The morning comes as the farmers have already been up for some hours outside the walls of the city, and the craft guilds open their stores to sell their wares. At this time the market is coming to life, some of the more fortunate farmers able to sell their produce to the city. Even so, this is relatively small compared to many of the larger cities, and so gossip abounds. And if one cares to listen, one would hear about some strange goings on in Clayton, another town.
Gnolls invading, troops being mustered, and yet they keep hearing about attacks... And it sounds like the Baron could be looking to find a group of people for a job...

Sir Crom makes it his job to have a presense in the market place. Because of his near perfect track record interacting with people yet physical traits that threaten away any unwanted attention they prefer him there. He simply stands watching the simple foke wonder about and politely answers any questions they may have.

Rikona moved nimbly between stalls and people alike, keeping her face as hidden as possible as she kept her eyes and ear out for rumors..or a decent item to swipe.

Belzar strode confidently through the market, eagerly observing the various goings-on around him. This was his first real trip out of his homeland, and he was determined not to miss anything of note. He stopped at a stall to buy a piece of fruit, then leaned against a bare stretch of wall, happily munching on his breakfast as he watched the merchants and other citizens going about their morning routines.

Melio gives a small sigh as he looks around. He rolled his shoulder while walking through the market. He was supposed to be retired, but old habits die hard. He had gold, but he decided not to spend it for now, deciding that it might be best to save it for later.

The town seems pretty normal, except Rinkona, being closer to the stalls would hear to women gossiping.
"Really? All the way out there? And no one has seen a thing?"
"Yeah! Honestly, they keep sending out troopers to the village, it seems the gnolls just..vanish. It's happened so many times people are starting to wonder if it's real or not."
"Let's hope nothing's actually wrong and they don't send anyone... I heard the mayor was looking for freelancers to look into it." -------------- Other than that, the three of you (unless also close to the stands and overhearing this) Find nothing of real note, a peaceful day in a peaceful town.

Sir Crom just keeps an eye across the market place. He does seems to be close to the gossip but doesn't pay much mind to it though.

Rikona looks interesting at the idea..money for letting others do her work? Sold. She starts to head for the mayor.

For others who may not be at the stalls, there is also the towns bounty board, a posting for that same job, while being purposefully vague, promising good pay and adventure. It says to see the mayors office for more info.
And possibly the most suspicious would be a man dressed in the obvious garish and puffed clothing of a Genovian freeguildsman. A soldier for hire, and someone who really would not have a lot of business being in a town this far in the center.

Belzar finds himself drawn to the overdressed man, and approaches him slowly, his meanderings through the square simply leading him closer to the individual. He doesn't yet speak to the man, instead still looking around and taking in his surroundings as he slowly closes in on the man.

Rikona looks at the board notice, taking note of the details before heading to watch the mayors office and see just how many people might be accepting the offer.

Looking around only tells Balzar how out of place this man's presence is. For his part, he seems to be looking intently at the bounty board, with quite a large ostentatious add promising payment for a job, and for further details to see the mayor. Which might explain his presence in the town. --------------- It seems their isn't a crowd outside the mayors estate yet. This might be a good chance to secure the job...

Rikona waits, leaning on a tree or building and watching the estate to see who else turns up.

After the morning crowd dies down he trades shift. He feels good about helping people, but these people weren't in trouble at all. Maybe he could find another place that would fit better. He then remembers the rumors around the market and heads to the mayor to see if he can help.

The gossip is spreading like wildfire, rumors of state troops being sent to the far flung little northeast village, and then finding nothing...and then more attacks being heard of as they leave. It seems to have captured the folks here imagination, many of them making a sign of Holy Emperor as they talk about it. ------------- Rikona now sees a armed and armored figure come closer to the Posting desk, and the man seems to immediately brighten as he sees the man walk forward.
Crom, being said figure, would see the man perk up and say "thank goodness, a Paladin. I was thinking no one was going to show up. Are you here about the job, sir?" Treating him with obvious deference.
